Who We Are and What We Do
We are one of 16 regional teams established by the Ohio Department of Education to help improve outcomes for all students, including students with disabilities. We believe that when educators, families, and communities work together, every child can learn and thrive in a global society.
Based on level of state-designated accountability, we provide no-cost, need-determined professional and personal learning opportunities for school districts, community schools, and families in Ashtabula, Trumbull, Mahoning, and Columbiana counties.
We focus on sustained systemic change in the areas of priority identification, improvement structures, evidence-based instructional practices, gap closure, school climate, early learning, early literacy, equity, secondary transition, and career-technical education.
Essentially, we empower. We build capacity for meeting the academic, social, and emotional needs of each and every student—every day!
Our Central Mission
As a part of the State System of Support, the State Support Team collaborates with schools, families and regional partners through a continuous improvement process to ensure each child in Ohio has access to a high-quality education. We focus on leadership and team development, and inclusive instruction practices to assist districts and schools in improving outcomes for each child.
