Zarrow Center Transition Bell Ringers We all probably have used bell ringers in all the subject areas we teach but how many times have we used transition bell ringers? They serve as great sources of Age Appropriate Transition Assessments and a great way to learn more about our students. The best part of these is that they can be used in all settings and serve as a great activity for intervention specialists to take the lead in co-teaching settings. The Zarrow Center at the University of Oklahoma continues to develop more and more of these. Their latest is the Intro to Transition Bell Ringers which are great for those students just turning 14. Be sure to check out all of the bell ringers on their website. Student-Led IEP Quick Reference Another great resource from the Zarrow Center. One of the best ways to build self-determination in our students is to teach them how to lead their own IEP meetings. The Zarrow Center made this quick reference guide which is full of great tips for educators as they work to prepare their students to lead their own IEP. At the bottom of the page is also a QR code which will take you to some templates that you can use for your students. Transition IEP ChecklistHere is a really cool resource that can be used by the most seasoned teacher all the way down to the most novice parent. It gives a really nice high-level overview of Transition Planning. It highlights the key players and what they should know and be doing. This is also a great way to engage your families and build their capacity around transition planning. When everyone is speaking the same language the team will be stronger in their support of student outcomes.
