Transition Tidbits April 19, 2021

Hi Everyone,

We are going to move to the final step of the Assessment to Practice Document. Step 7 is to develop and analyze data collection and evaluation tools. As we know, we are always in a continuous cycle which begins and ends with collection of data to determine effectiveness and our next steps. Our first resource will assist in addressing step 7. The two resources below are not related to step 7 but are definitely worth the time for review.

One quick note, please remember we have our final Regional Transition Networking event scheduled for Thursday at 9:00. A link to our flier is below, which has the Zoom link included. There is also a section if you wanted to submit a question to discuss as a region. Hope to see you all there

MEETING FLIER

  • NTACT Student Progress Monitoring Toolkit

    • Another great resource from NTACT. This document is a little long but definitely worth the time. It begins with the why of data-based decision-making as well as explaining the benefits. Next, it will define and give examples of many student progress monitoring tools. Finally, the document is loaded with templates to use for progress monitoring. There are observation forms, ABC charts, transition behavior rating scales, and so much more. Whatever you want to measure progress on, you will find a tool to do it here.

  • SST 2 Virtual Transition Fair

    • State Support Team Region 2 will be holding a transition fair on April 29. They were kind enough to invite anyone from our region as well. The event runs from 12:45-8:00. You do not have to attend the whole time as sessions are offered in multiple time slots in case you miss something or want to attend multiple sessions. Take a look at the link for a schedule of events and a description of each session. LeDerick Horne will be giving the keynote address at 4:00 which is titled “A Path to Pride and Success” with a focus on self advocacy and self determination. Please note the keynote address is the only event that will occur only once. The deadline to register is April 23.

  • GCF Global Learning

    • Wow, this is a great website. This is the true definition of a one-stop shop for anything you need in any classroom. This site has information, videos, examples, tools, and much more for a wide range of topics. Some topics include Core Education Skills, reading/math, Career planning, how to use Google Meet, How to use Microsoft Office products (for those of you using offering this and an Industry Credential) and so much more. Please take a few minutes to check this out. The website might look like it is a little difficult to navigate but just click in the toolbar below the “Building your Future” section. A picture is below to help you see what the toolbar looks like.
