Hi Everyone
In week 2 of our transition tidbits, we will continue to focus on the Student Focused Section of the Taxonomy of Transition Program tool. Please remember, we have a simple Google Form self-assessment for the Taxonomy. It allows your team to rate yourselves in each of the 5 areas to determine your strengths and areas where you can make improvements. If you would like a copy of this simple assessment, please email [email protected]
Student Focused Resources
My Future
We know about the 3 E options for graduation in Ohio. Our students can become; Enrolled, Enlisted, or Employed. This website provides multiple resources for each one of these options. Students explore jobs, get interview tips, learn how to pay for college, learn about life in the military, and much more. So many of these resources can be used as Age-Appropriate Transition Assessments to create a student-focused transition plan.
Khan Academy
Everyone knows about some of the academic programs that Khan Academy offers. They also have a career component as well. Students can explore careers, salary expectations, where to live, how to negotiate a salary, and even how to network. Students can also learn information about entrepreneurship. All of this information can go a long way in developing student-focused Transition Plans.
MOTE
This is a Google App to make Google Forms more accessible for students with disabilities. Google Forms is a great tool to collect AATA data on students. This app allows both teachers and students to record and answer questions verbally through Google Forms. This app can make all Google Forms student-focused based on student needs. The link above is to a short video about the app. To download the App, visit the Google Chrome Store.
