Transition Tidbits April 26, 2021

Hi Everyone,

Well, we made it. Today’s tidbit will be the final resource shared that links to the “Assessment for Practice” document. Our first resource this week aligns with section 7 of the “Assessment to Practice” document which is to Develop Data Collection/Evaluation Systems. This is certainly an important step to not only determine if your transition plan is meeting individual student needs but to ensure your program is effectively meeting the PINS of all your students.

  • Employment First Collecting and Analyzing Youth Performance Data

    • Our Final Resource aligning to the Assessment to Practice document. On this website, there are 3 links. The first link is to a booklet with a lot of great information. It discusses differences between formative and summative assessments, gives some guidelines or rules of thumb to consider as well as providing many examples of data collection. The second link is an introduction video to collecting and analyzing data and the final link is to a bunch of blank templates that you can easily reproduce.

  • Regional Transition Network Padlet

    • Here is a link to the Padlet we have been using all year. We have updated it with information from our last Regional Transition Network. Please take a minute to check out the recording from the networking because there was a lot of great information shared.

  • Ohio Means Jobs Resources from ODE

    • We have shared a lot of information about the new Ohio Means Jobs site. This link will bring you to ODE’s page for OMJ. Here you will find multiple resources to help you navigate the newly designed OMJ website.

  • Skills Students Need Most in a Post Pandemic World

    • This was a really cool article we came across. It interviews CEOs of major companies and asks them to talk about the skills they feel students will need in a post-pandemic world (hence the name). The CEOs talk about specific skills such as coding, but a lot of the conversation is about soft skills such as critical thinking, responding to change, and having a growth mindset. Just a quick note, if you watch our Regional Transition Network video on our padlet, we had a nice presentation about the importance of these skills. The format of the article may look a little awkward but we needed to copy and paste it into a Google Doc to make sure everyone could access the article.
