Hi Everyone
This week we are going to continue in the Family Engagement Section of the Taxonomy of Transition Programming with our first resource. We also shared a couple of great videos which show how effective transition planning in school can truly lead to great post-school outcomes for them. Please make sure to check out another event about Charting the Life Course.

Tim’s Place
Great video shared by Svetlana in our office. This video is about an individual with Down’s Syndrome who owns his own restaurant. What a great example of setting high expectations, engaging families, and using person-centered planning leading to successful post-school outcomes. Side note, there were other linked videos about Tim and in one of them, it mentioned how his original restaurant had to close because he was moving to Colorado with his girlfriend… where he wanted to open a restaurant there as well.
AT to Drive
Another video is similar to Tim’s. This one shows how this individual uses Assistive Technology to drive. Again, this is another example of how we can impact post-school outcomes with successful post-secondary transition planning. We would love to hear your thoughts on both of these videos. Feel free to leave a sticky note on our Jamboard.
